A Story in every bite: Vanderlust Bistro + Patisserie

After a tiring day from work, I met with a college of mine to have a reunion to have some talk in life and getting to kamusta to each other. Treat yourself din pag may time! Since Quezon City has a lot of unusual restos I picked to eat in Vanderlust Bistro + Patisserie.

Catalan Baked Fish with Potatoes & Asparagus

Italian Cannoli and Churros

Italian Cannoli

Their Cannoli is one of the best. Cannoli has 7 flavors. I choose again the best seller flavor and it’s Earl Gray. The taste is not that sweet nor bland. (Yung saktuhan lang pero masarap!)

The staff is a plus also. Very accommodating!

A quick trivia from the name of the resto. Vanderlust named after the couple Mark Anthony and Valerie. The concept began in 2013 during the honeymoon of the couple, they spent a month going from one European city to another, experiencing the rich and diverse culture. Their senses were captivated by the new and unique experiences, from the art and architecture to the music and lastly, the food! Armed with only the love for good food and for each other, the two started to pursue a dream of sharing their wonderful adventure with others who share the same fervor for adventure!

‘Vanderlust’ comes from their names mixed with ‘Wanderlust’: Val + Anthony + Wanderlust = Vanderlust.

It’s LIT! Youtube Creator Day Manila 2017

Hello, it’s been awhile since my last post. I was extremely excited and kinda nervous for this event that I’m going to post. Okay uhmmm… I was invited by Youtube Philippines for Youtube Creator Day Manila last August 19, Saturday that was held at Relik Restaurant and Bar in BGC Commerce centre.

I was nervous for some reason because my content was not really a vlogger type so I expected that all people that will attend are specifically a vlogger. As I got in the venue, they ask my name to register and gave me my name tag and a ballpen.  Since I am alone and don’t have any close “YouTuber” friend I suddenly became shy….. I feel shy when I don’t know anybody in general. Well, although I feel shy I start socializing and approach with the person beside me and he’s into techie and WHAT?! So I’m not the only creator that has a different content.

Did I just say that I’m a creator? Oh yes I didn’t expect that I could attend to this kind of event also the fact that I could earn in this. I started first account when I was in 1st-year high school I guess? It was my first account “shairalim025” my channel got suspended or deleted by Youtube and I don’t know what’s the reason………limshaira (former shairalimlyrics) is currently stable and I’m still using it. I created limshaira in 2010. I just love making a video and put some lyrics on it. I consider that it was REALLY a hobby of mine while I was in my teenage years. I didn’t imagine this could go so far and to become part of the community and the event as well is just sooooooooooo AMAZING!!!

I’m the one who’s wearing a glasses, a white top, a denim skort with a green backpack.

It was super duper fun and exciting event I got connect with some creators and inspired by the Youtube Ambassador. We did games and raffles. too. Overwhelmed feeling to see people with the same passion as you.

Nice meeting you all 😀 ❤

PS: In 2015, I plan to make my own videos like as in kita mukha but I don’t how to start it. I also plan to vlog that event but it failed ’cause I was so “na-iilang” to do so. Get over to that shyness and start it now. For the next event, I promise to vlog it out.

In case you’re curious what are my channels?

Words Unspoken

I did not imagine a blessing would come to me
I did not know anything yet at first
So happy that finally, this was the moment I’m waiting for
Shy at first but
eventually, I keep myself head up
learning new skills and obtaining new challenges
time flies so fast
I was so scared to make mistake
I was ashamed of what would happen next
I became quiet
I kept on thinking. thinking. thinking
not knowing I was drowning with my own thoughts
I reach out to the people who I’m close with
But I then still don’t know how to change it.

I lose my confidence
slowly until it was flopping
I keep on teaching myself to trust my guts
but it’s too late
I lose my motivation

I predict that moment will happen
The day he said that totally drop my mind
It’s such a terrible day
My throat becomes dry
So I sip a drink
It was a crucial stage to decide
will I fight for it? Or just leave?
tryin’ to say something
but the words won’t come out
At the end of the day all the thoughts
remain unsaid
for the last time, I did not say anything

Thank you for the music, the songs I’m singing. Thanks for all the joy they’re bringing. Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty. What would life be?  -ABBA

What is life? Music is my life! When I don’t have nothing to do I always ended up listening music. Singing is my key to kill boredom. I don’t care who can hear it. 🙂

Ollie in Gunmetal | Sunny Specs

Screen shot from Sunnies Specs site

I was envious of my sister, she got it first and I decided to change my eyeglasses. Besides, it is very affordable price Php. 1,999 – Lens + Frame (in any frame) + Eye Exam with many colors variety. I pick Ollie in Gunmetal, this frame consists of 3 colors  (charcoal, gunmetal, and Bronze)  I love it the way it is. I added 1,700 for more slimmer lenses to fit in the frame, since mataas grado ko, the ophthalmologists recommended it for me.

Why do I  love it?

From its design, its simple looks very trendy and fashionable I like the thickness of the eyewear as well.

The service

I bought my pairs in SM Megamall 3rd Floor at Mega Fashion Hall. The store… actually it’s just a kiosk. I didn’t imagine that there’s a room for the eye check up. When you like to fit a glasses you don’t have to ask for the assistance of the staff if you like the frame or not, you can do it own after picking your desired frame you will have to fill out a form for the eye check up.

Why I started blogging?

For many years I used to have a blog in 2010 storing photos of my kinds of stuff that I saved via online and posted there, in short during that time I don’t have any idea what a blog could turn out to be. I actually had a lot of platforms back then, BlogSpot was the first one and later on, I created a new one in WordPress but forget the password and move to another which is Weebly. I love creating so many blogs because I like changing backgrounds, customize it and play with it. My teenage years were like to have so many blogs to manage for nothing.

I realize that I need to be more specific why and made a decision that I just need to be consistent in one platform. Writing is a bit nerve-wracking because I’m not used to it as well as I’m not confident enough to publish it, afraid that my grammar is wrong. After reading so many blogs sites it doesn’t really matter about the grammar I can adapt it on my own and improve it.

So, last year I finally made this and publish my first blog. I love traveling and making gala and share my experiences. This where I express my thoughts that I cannot find through words or by saying it.

Like a mushroom in the backyard, blogging isn’t a dream of me blogging suddenly popped out that I wanted to do and explore. We have goals in life and a part of my goals is to become a successful blogger.

La Vie Parisienne

There’s no need a passport and visa for your next Paris tour. I’ve visited Cebu last month. La Vie Parisienne has a vibe of being in Paris. Very instagrammable place too! I didn’t try any foods or wines I was fully loaded during my buffet stay at Pino Restaurant. I’ll sure to try it next time. Rain suddenly drops during my visit and I’m soooo frustrated that I didn’t take many photos of the place.
